Police and protesters clash at Tesla's Berlin factory

Police and protesters clashed at a demonstration outside of Tesla's only manufacturing location in Europe - the gigafactory Berlin-Brandenburg - on Friday.

Activists attempted to storm into the factory as they were protesting against plans to expand it.

Tesla boss Elon Musk responded to videos of the incident on social media, and asked why protesters were "not jailed for breaking and entering?".

It is not the first time the factory's expansion plans have sparked a protest.

In March this year, environmentalists in Germany occupied some of the forest expected to be cleared as part of the factory's expansion plans, building tree houses in the protest camp.
