D-Day 80: Video shows Lepe Beach structures cut off by storm damage
Video from a beach damaged by storms shows how historical D-Day structures will be inaccessible for the 80th anniversary of the Normandy landings.
Thousands of troops left from Lepe Beach, Hampshire, in June 1944, and some of the structures had remained after the war.
Part of the beach was washed away during last month's storms.
Hampshire County Council said checks had shown the remains were unaffected but the beach would stay shut.
Like much of the Hampshire and Isle of Wight's coast, Lepe was affected by the high tides combined with strong winds which led to a "significant section" of the beach being washed away.
