Stephen Lawrence murder: 'There are still three suspects out there', says mother

Stephen Lawrence's mother has told the BBC she would like the investigation into the murder of her son to be reopened, after the Met Police apologised to her for breaking a promise to answer questions raised by a BBC investigation.

The force told Baroness Doreen Lawrence it would give her an explanation after the BBC revealed a series of failings linked to a sixth murder suspect following a year long investigation.

“There's still three suspects out there and I'm sure there's witnesses that probably could help them if they're interested," Baroness Lawrence said of reopening the investigation in a personal message to Met Police commissioner Mark Rowley.

“If you don't go and look, you're never going find anything," she added.
